Are you bathing in or drinking well water?

Well water is vulnerable to contamination from sewage, improper well construction, heavy rainfall or floods, as well as runoff from livestock farms and produce farms.

Contaminants such as iron and hydrogen sulfide, tannin,  other organic matter (herbicides, pesticides), turbidity, and most bacterial contamination (viruses, bacteria, amoebas, etc.)  can end up  polluting  your well water. Many of these are disease-causing, meaning  it is important to test your well water and possibly treat it regularly.

The System

A Chlorination Dechlorination (CDC) Water Treatment System is a very effective way of treating  problematic well  water. It removes contaminants with the use of chlorine and contact time.  Contact time is the period of time water is exposed to chlorine before removal to enter the home.

The amount of chlorine injected and the length of contact time required for removal of specific contaminants varies from well to well. It is wise to have a professional company install the system and offer guidance/training for proper ongoing maintenance  since water conditions in wells often change. When this happens, you have to adjust the levels of chlorine upward or downward to meet the current need.

A Chlorination Dechlorination (CDC) System also includes an auto back-washing Carbon Filter. This filter plays a critical role in the entire process. It traps and  purges particulate matter and multiple forms of oxidized iron. And minimizes the effect of potentially toxic disinfection byproducts by removing the residual chlorine along with its disinfection byproducts – Trihalomethanes (THM’s) and Haloacetic acids (HAAs).
