Softeners
Softening Water with Ion Exchange

Water softeners are designed to remove calcium and magnesium ions. These ions are often referred to as ‘hardness minerals’.
A water softener collects hard minerals within its conditioning tank, and from time to time flushes them away to drain. During the process of softening through ion exchange, the softener will replace the calcium and magnesium ions in the water with other ions, for instance sodium or potassium. The exchange ions are added to the ion exchange reservoir as sodium and potassium salts.
Softeners can remove a certain amount of hardness before regeneration is necessary. It is during this regeneration stage that the softener will use salt. More efficient systems use less salt.
Best Water Solutions sells only the highest quality of water softeners, made in the United States. They are engineered for the most water efficient and salt efficient usage, and back up batteries in the softener help the unit to stay on cycle during power outages.
Whether you are on city water or well water, a softener will help protect your appliances, your plumbing, your skin & hair, and prevent those pesky spots on your glassware and glass shower enclosures.
