Water Testing
The only way to know what’s in your water is to test the water chemistry! Armed with those test results, our trained experts will have clarity on your specific water issues and what water treatment systems are available to remedy those issues.
Best Water Solutions partners with Simple Labs to offer in-home water testing that you, the homeowner, can pull yourself & ship back. The results will be relayed to you by email within 2 – 15 business days, depending on the test.

The variety of tests available can be a bit overwhelming. Below are some helpful tips on how to choose the most appropriate water test for your water.
City Water
For City Water, we recommend either the Drinking Water Test: Level 1 (without bacteria) or for a more thorough test, the Drinking Water Test: Level 2 (without bacteria).
Well Water
For Well Water we always recommend selecting a test that includes bacteria. There are several levels of bacteria testing, depending on how many analytes you’d like to test for. The core bacteria test is the Coliform and HPC Water Test, testing for E. coli, Total Coliform, and Total Heterotropic Plate Count.
If you want a bacteria test *and* an overview of other contaminants that may be in your well water – including hardness & iron & many other analytes that create water quality issues, we recommend the Drinking Water Test: Level 1 + Bacteria, or the Drinking Water Test: Level 2 + Bacteria, or the Drinking Water Test: Level 3 + Bacteria.
If you want to drill down on bacteria and are having issues with strange odors or the formation of biofilm / bioslime in your toilets or other plumbing fixtures around the house, we recommend the Biofilm Bacteria Water Test.
If you are concerned about the possible presence of Iron Bacteria, which directly impacts which water treatment technologies can be used for iron removal, then select the Iron Related Bacteria (IRB) Water Test.
City And Well Water
There are other focused water tests that are applicable for both City *and* Well Water, testing for specific contaminants:
- EPA 1633 PFAS Water Test will test for 40 different types of “forever chemicals” in your water.
- Lead and Copper Test are valid for City or Well Water as an additional add-on test for a deeper dive into your water chemistry.
